I just wanted to quick let everyone know that we have the best phones ever and I would highly recommend them. They are the Vtech phone. We just bought a new set when we moved because we like that they have several bases that you can place around the house and they are all cordless. Not only that.. you can push the intercom button to call each headset..this comes in handy when I'm lazy and need Steve to bring me something:) But the reason why they truly are the BEST phone is they can get submerged in a bathtub and still work! You would think that Lauren was the cause of this but really it was me I hate to admit. Steve went to go play poker with some friends so I decided to relax in the bath and as I was gathering all my gossip magazines the phone slipped into the tub. Why the phone was between the magazines I have no idea. I thought the phone was toast but after a few minutes of drying off it was as good as new. I'm sure this is the first of many times that this phone will be put to the test!

Were Expecting..

A niece or nephew that is! My Sister-in-law Anne is pregnant and we are so excited! She is due at the end of September and we can't wait to meet the little one. They gave my parents these tee-shirts to tell them which I thought was such a cute idea(The grand kids call them Bama and Papa). Non of us caught it at first until Ron and Anne started laughing. Ron and Anne you will be great parents!

Another doctor visit proves we are blessed
Today Lauren had a 2 year check-up with her pediatric cardiologist and we got a great report. When Lauren was born she had a PDA due to her prematurity. Basically what this means is a valve outside of her heart which allows for blood flow from the lungs to the heart never closed when she was born. Everyone is born with thier PDA open since that is how the body works invetro but a healthy full term baby's PDA closes within the first 24 hours of life. Lauren's tiny body didn't have signals to close this valve so blood continued to flow from the heat to the lungs. After doses of medacine the PDA got smaller but did not close completely. Some premies have a hard time breathing because of this and are ventalated and/or need surgury in the NICU to close the PDA. Thankfully it never seemed to effect Lauren. A few months after she arrived home we brought her back to the doctor and it was confirmed that her PDA was still open and most likely wouldn't close..at one year they wanted to see her again and preform surgery if it was still open. At a year, the doctor could hardly hear a murmmer and since she was doing so well he said to come back at two years. I guess the main reason to make sure it is closed is there is a possiblily of getting an infection in the blood stream which could be fatal if left open. So it has now been two years and we were not looking forward to this doctor visit. They have to do an ultrasound of the heart and Lauren has to sit super still. Do you know Lauren??? My pockets were full of suckers and other things that I thought would keep her still but surprisingly she did awesome. The doctor couldn't believe how well she sat for him during the 20 min ultrasound. Steve and I were shocked as well. The best part is the PDA closed!! No surgury!! We just can't believe how God has blessed us. He is good!

One down, two to go

The bathroom is officially done. After 3 pedestal sinks, putting a hole in the wall to move pipes, several light fixtures, and many coats of paint...we are glad to have our evenings back. Although Steve did all the work I missed having him help with the girls after work especially since we have been dealing with some nasty illnesses. I had a really hard time getting a good picture of the bathroom, but you can get an idea. Now its time to start planning the remodel for the other two bathrooms- but I think Steve needs a little break :)

Onto a new adventure...

So after trying to figure out what I could do as a stay home mom I finally think I found something that fits me(At least I know that waitressing isn't for me:). Although I never thought I could sell anything at home parties I found a really cool product that I absolutely love and it feeds my creative bug. It is called Uppercase Living and it has fun expressions for the walls. I was quite hesitant to finally make the move since I don't want friends and family feeling pressure to help me out(Does anyone what to have a party? Just kidding). I think Steve is a little worried our house will have "expressions" all over the place:).. but I can't wait to get started. If you want to see more check out the web sight at www.uppercaseliving.com.

The Floor Is Done

We now have a newly tiled floor.. so much better than the previous. Steve did the whole thing by himself.. he doesn't know what he got himself into, I will now want every bathroom retiled!! Now it is on to all the little details. We had a REALLY hard time parting with the beauty of a light fixture but it is time to move on. Of course the new light I bought doesn't fit over the hole in the wall so now I need to find another light(I think anything will be better than what we currently have). I also don't like the green I was going to paint the walls..turned out too dark. Why do projects always take way longer than anticipated???

Yes.. we are still here
I have been getting heat for slacking on the blog. It was so busy for a while and it just got put on the back burner. We had a great Christmas with Steve's family. The kids had so much fun playing with each other and it was great to catch up. I was able to escape to Florida for a weekend for my cousin's wedding- It was so nice and relaxing! Steve was a trooper and held the fort down, but thank goodness his family was here to help. Since Christmas not too much is new. Chloe had her 9 month doctors appointment(she is getting so old!)She is just over 19 pounds(average), but is in the upper 80th percentile for height. We got the o.k. to feed her pretty much everything that we eat... so this has been fun. She has now mastered crawling and is a little maniac- She can even climb all the way up the stairs- thank goodness for gates. She also loves to get at the china cabinet which surprisingly Lauren only investigated a few times. It is kind of cute though- Chloe will crawl over to it and actually open it and when I say "no, no" she quickly falls and crawls with a big smile on her face.. we have another stinker. As for me I quit my job waitressing. It was a bit more stressful than I thought and since it was a newer restaurant I didn't make enough money to make it worth it. I am really excited about a new product that my friend Bradi turned me on to called Uppercase Living and I am thinking about getting in to that. Other than that Steve is tearing up our guest bathroom and completely remodeling it- so fun! He got a tile saw for Christmas and just cut all the tile. I will keep you updated on the project via pictures.
